Dan Mitchell - Post-election Tax Implications for Wyoming Businesses

November’s elections results will undoubtedly affect federal tax policy with a direct impact on Wyoming businesses.

On November 11th, Wyoming Liberty Group is hosting a lunch presentation by Dan Mitchell at The Plains Hotel in downtown Cheyenne.  Mitchell, a Senior Fellow at the Washington D.C. based CATO Institute, will be speaking about the election’s potential effects on federal tax policy with a special emphasis on the impacts to Wyoming businesses.   The cost is $20 if registered by November 5th at 5pm or $25 at the door and includes lunch.  The presentation will begin promptly at noon and the public is welcome to attend.

Sven Larson, Wyoming Liberty Group staff economist said, “We are excited to have such a highly regarded tax policy expert coming to Cheyenne.  The information he brings will be invaluable to Wyoming businesses, legislators and citizens.”  Mitchell’s presentation is timely as he will be speaking just one week after the mid-term elections.

Mitchell is a top expert on tax reform, supply-side tax policy and international tax competition. Prior to joining Cato, Mitchell was a senior fellow with The Heritage Foundation, and an economist for Senator Bob Packwood and the Senate Finance Committee. He also served on the 1988 Bush/Quayle transition team and was Director of Tax and Budget Policy for Citizens for a Sound Economy. His articles can be found in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Investor's Business Daily, and Washington Times. He is a frequent guest on radio and television and a popular speaker on the lecture circuit. Mitchell holds bachelor's and master's degrees in economics from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University.
