Beyond the Movie

Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with the content presented in the Waiting for Superman, most of which takes place in New York City and Los Angeles, we must have a real conversation in our community about how we all must play a part in improving Jacksonville's public schools.

Please join the Jacksonville Public Education Fund for this important conversation on Tuesday, November 9 at 6 p.m. at the Jacksonville Public Library.

At the forum, Frank Denton, editor of the Florida Times-Union, will moderate a discussion about key issues in education reform between the following participants:

  • Ed Pratt-Dannals, Superintendent
  • Terrie Brady, Duval Teachers United President
  • Brenda Priestly-Jackson, School Board Chair
  • John Baker, KIPP Jacksonville Chair
  • Gary Chartrand, Jacksonville Public Education Fund Chair
  • Zak Champagne, DCPS Teacher of the Year

Come with ideas and action steps for change or just come to learn and talk with others about what needs to happen for all students in Jacksonville to have great public schools.
