"Copyright and the Economics of Creativity"

The Digital Age is changing the face of content creation and distribution. Crowd sourcing for the creation of product or writing of books is all the rage. Software platforms are allowing non-computer programmers to create their own mobile applications. Journalists, writers, artists, musicians can publish their work in one location, or one hundred, and online content distributors sometimes take copyrighted work and redistribute it without the creators' permission.  Does the Copyright Royalty and Distribution Reform Act of 2004 sufficiently meet the demands of the digital age? Are government policies properly managing rights distribution and ownership of created works? What are future trends in the evolution of Digital Media that legislators need to keep in mind?

These and other questions will be addressed during this session.
