Education
Scott Pittman, founder of the Permaculture Institute, leads 14 hours of educational sessions encompassing a broad introduction to permaculture. One of the most highly regarded experts in his field, Pittman has been a permaculture designer and teacher for 27 years.
"To my mind, the very act of enrolling for a permaculture design course is one of the most political acts most people ever engage in," Pittman says. "Since I have certified over 3,000 people, I feel I have helped create a small village of active, engaged and aware folks who now have the tools to change the reality around them – and many of them are very busy doing just that."
Networking
In addition to learning, Madre Tierra: an Introduction to Permaculture offers several opportunities for networking. Conference registration includes morning coffee and tea, as well as catered vegan lunch by Chef Mayra, both Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 29-30. Following Saturday's lectures, you can enjoy conversation with fellow attendees at a reception with complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres.
