Developing Your Advocacy Plan for the 2011 Legislative Session - Central Region 

Are you ready to strategically and effectively advocate for prevention programs and services in your community? Adolescent health programs may be at risk as the new General Assembly faces political and economic change. Threats to youth services could include potential policy changes and the state's $3 billion budget deficit. You'll leave this regional training with a clear understanding of how youth may be impacted during the 2011 legislative session and what you can do to make a difference. Get engaged, stay engaged and learn how YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Objectives:

  • To provide participants with a clear understanding of how the upcoming legislative session will impact youth and community services for youth.
  • To provide participants with concrete strategies to avert budget cuts and deflect negative policy changes.
