America's Sunday Supper in Raleigh Hosted by MEł
MEł invites local community members to join us for supper in Raleigh on January 16, 2011, the Sunday before Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
Inspired by the legacy of Dr. King, Sunday Supper brings together people from diverse backgrounds to share a meal, discuss issues that affect our community and mobilize around the most pressing social issues. Our supper in Raleigh will mirror others like it happening nationwide at the same time through an effort driven by the Hands On Network.
- Location and Cost: Our Sunday Supper will take place at Golden Corral in Raleigh. The cost to attend this event is simply the cost of your own dinner buffet meal at the restaurant ($10.49 for adults; other rates on the RSVP page). Golden Corral has graciously agreed to waive the cost of drinks for our guests, so your total cost will be only your buffet + tax. Guests must present printed confirmation of their Registration to Golden Corral to receive the free drink for being a part of this event. Payment will be accepted at the door.
- How It Works: Guests will come together to dine and hear a brief overview of some local issues from attending nonprofit representatives. After eating, guests will move table to table at will to engage in open discussion about these issues and others, meeting others as they go. Finally, guests will receive information about ways to get involved with area causes.
- Who Should Attend: Community members from all walks of life are welcomed and encouraged to attend to come hear about local issues and how to get involved in being a part of the solution. Kids welcome!
