Learn more about the newly adopted California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen) in two workshops offered by an expert
Effective January 1, 2011, the provisions of CALGreen apply to the planning, design, operation, construction, use and occupancy of every newly constructed building or structure throughout the State of California. CALGreen requirements are in addition to those of the Calfornia Building Code (CBC), Title 24 and other state and locally adopted codes and ordinances. Are you prepared?
About the Speaker
Workshop presenter, Wally Geer, is founder and president of Greymar Associates, providing architectural, consulting, planning and construction management services to a diverse client base within the fields of real estate development and the housing industry.
During a varied and successful career, Mr. Geer has acquired extensive experience in building design, construction, marketing and financing of both residential and commercial developments, and the development of innovative sustainable building systems and construction technologies. He is recognized internationally for his expertise and contributions in housing technology and the application of CAD/CAM/CIM technology in automated building systems.
Mr. Geer is a founding director of the Central Coast Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, currently serves as a Board Member and as the chapter’s Chief Operating Officer and has served in an elected position on the USGBC’s California Alliance Taskforce. He is also active in the National Association of Home Builders and the Urban Land Institute and has the unique honor of being the first U.S. citizen to be accepted to the Japanese 2X4 Home Builders Association.
Mr. Geer is an experienced professional trainer, speaker and expert witness, having presented to: the California State Senate, the United States Congress, the Harvard Joint Center for Housing, the U.S./Mexico Border Trade Alliance, the National Association of Home Builders, the U.S. Green Building Council, the State Senate of Hawaii, the European Reconstruction Bank, the Center for Sustainable Energy and numerous local and regional building departments and universities as an expert on the technology and legality of alternative zoning, design and construction methodologies of sustainable and green building technologies and alternative building systems. Most recently, he has been training architects, builders and other construction sector professionals in the implications and application of the new 2010 California Green Building Standards Code (CAL GREEN).
