Mercato Goes To The Dogs For Mardi Paws Parade & Pet Fest!

There will be plenty of tail-wagging good fun as dogs and other lovable pets parade in colorful Mardi Gras-themed costumes at the 4th Annual Mardi Paws! This year's celebration will include toe-tappin’ live music by Louisiana zydeco band, The Porch Dogs, decorated floats and a barrage of beads. As always, the adorable costumed pets will steal the show! Mayor Bill Barnett will once again be our honored parade Grand Marshall. Festivities also include facepainting for the kids, a pet psychic, caricature artist, contests and raffles, giveaways and much more!

Main street at Mercato will be filled with costumed dogs and their humans, who throw beads and parade favors to the crowds lining the streets. Small floats, (decorated golf carts, bicycles and wagons) will be everywhere and Mardi Gras music will fill the air. “Yappie Hour” and an awards ceremony will immediately follow the parade, with prizes awarded for a variety of categories where we will crown our Mardi Paws Royal Court. CSNC's Mardi Paws is one of the premier pet events in Southwest Florida, with members of the 4 pawed community coming from far and wide to join in the fun. Parade lines up at 1:00 p.m. just off Main St. at Mercato, (located at the intersection of Vanderbilt Beach Road and US-41 in North Naples).

Animal lovers, pet vendors & merchants and pet rescue/shelter groups with adoptable pets, come together all in one place to celebrate Mardi Paws, while raising awareness about the pet overpopulation crisis and homeless cats and dogs in our community. Funds raised allow CSNC to continue to provide free and low cost, quality spay/neuter services for all pets in need.

All parade registrants receive a party bag stuffed with treats & beads for throwing and are eligible to compete in the Mardi Gras costume contest to win one of the Mardi Paws Royal Court titles! Winners selected based on creativity and colors of their Mardi Gras-themed costumes and for their fun-loving, memorable personalities. Prizes also awarded for the best Mardi Gras themed small floats!
