Things have changed and how you have designed in the past may not be how you'll design in the future.

If there is one thing designers have discovered in the last 18 months is that economic forces have forced changes on the interiors profession, like it or not. There is little doubt that designers, showrooms, design centers, manufacturers and vendors have each been affected by the recent downturn in the marketplace. And the forecast for the months ahead is still uncertain.  But if there is one thing that is for certain, it is time to consider what changes your firm might need to do in order to adapt to these economic times rather than continue to fight against them.

This two hour workshop, Designing A New Business Model, will address the 10 significant trends that are and will continue to affect the practice of interior design and offer ways that your firm can effectively respond to them.  There is no one answer.... no one perfect model....  but by examining the economic forces that are the drivers of 2011, solutions can be created that can form the foundation for a new way to do business.

Provided by the Design Collective and taught by Michael A. Thomas, FASID, the current national president of ASID, you will discover the demographic changes that will directly affect consumers as they make decisions for their home and work environments in the months ahead.  You will learn that how you "design" and what you charge should be linked to consumers and how THEY choose to make one purchase decision over another and hire one design firm over another.

The Classroom seating is small and limited, intimate and friendly.  And advanced Registrations are required !  Here is your opportunity to re-design your interiors practice to take advantage of these uncertain times, perhaps even discover a trend that will inspire you on a path you just might not have expected.

Only question is: Are you ready for a change?
