Join APPCNC and advocates from across North Carolina for 2011 Adolescent Health Advocacy (AHAD)! This legislative session will be a critical one for North Carolina's young people. Our state has new leadership and a budget deficit of nearly $4 billion. At stake: policies, programs, and public structures that help young people grow up to be healthy, responsible, productive adults.
Who?
We need parents, professionals, youth, and others to come tell legislators to invest in North Carolina's future by investing in North Carolina youth!
What?
Adolescent Health Advocacy Day will focus on the most vulnerable issues as determined by youth-focused organizations and youth themselves.
When?
Wednesday, March 2nd. We'll have speakers, training, and a public forum from 10-12. Then, you'll have time to visit your legislators. We'll be happy to set appointments with legislators for you!
Why?
Because North Carolina youth are our future leaders, voters, workers, parents, and teachers.
Because creating healthy youth lays the foundation for our state's future prosperity.
Because the public policies and public structures that promote youth health are in jeopardy.
Because you - yes, you! - can make a difference!
