Credit Unions and Community Development: Lessons and Impact

The National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions (Federation) is pleased to announce a new series of regional conferences, the first of which is being organized in collaboration with the Louisiana Credit Union League.

If your credit union is Low-Income Designated or CDFI certified, has expanded into underserved areas, or simply wants to serve low- and moderate-income (LMI) members within your field of membership more effectively, you will benefit from the specialized curriculum we’ve developed.

9:30-12:30pm    Track II: Foreclosure Prevention: Help for CU Members at Risk

Although credit unions did not create the foreclosure crisis, they are an important part of the solution. Consumers often have more trust in their credit union than in any other financial institution and are more likely to turn to their credit union for advice, counsel and assistance.

This track will help you identify which members are at risk of foreclosure; how to assist those members avoid scams and predatory traps; what financial products can reduce the risk of foreclosure for your members and your credit union; and how to connect those members to responsible counseling and other services.

Cost

Full conference registration is $95.00 for Federation members and Louisiana Credit Union League members, and $195.00 for all others*.

Foreclosure Prevention bonus track is included with all full conference registrations, or you can register just for this session for $45.00!
