An Evening With Gary Shapiro, Author of “The Comeback,” in Conversation with Daniel Sieberg

Will innovation drive the U.S. economic comeback? Join us Tuesday, March 22, for a special evening with Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® President and CEO Gary Shapiro, author of The New York Times bestseller The Comeback: How Innovation Will Restore the American Dream, in conversation with Emmy-nominated technology correspondent Daniel Sieberg.

Shapiro represents more than 2,000 of the nation’s leading technology companies and runs the International CES®, the biggest gathering on the planet for consumer technology held each January in Las Vegas. International CES has been launch pad for every major technology innovation, from the DVD player and HD radio to 3DTV and augmented reality gaming.

Shapiro’s new book, The Comeback, is a playbook for an economic recovery led by innovation. America is in decline, he argues, and the current generation is failing its children by reckless federal spending and the reluctance to make hard choices. Both political parties bear responsibility, but it’s not too late to change course using innovation as the roadmap for success.

Sieberg is a national technology correspondent whose work regularly appears on CBS News, CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, BBC News, and the Discovery Channel. He previously was the science and technology correspondent for the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, The Early Show, and CBS Sunday Morning.
