About the panelists: 

Sarah Lonetti has been a Family and Consumer Sciences educator for 9 years.  She is currently teaching at Indiana High School in Pennsylvania.  Ms. Lonetti has been recognized by Who's Who of American Teachers, is the Vice President for the western region of the Pennsylvania Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and is a proud member of an FCS Department that received the Standard of Excellence award from PAFCS.

Lindsey Shirley, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Family and Consumer Sciences Education at Utah State University.  She works with 150 majors, one of the largest FCS teacher education programs in the country.  Before coming to USU, Ms. Shirley taught at the University of Idaho and has also had experience teaching FCS at the junior high level.  She earned her PhD from Iowa State University in FCS..

Helen Fuqua serves as the Program Specialist for Family and Consumer Science at the Virginia Department of Education. Her duties include working with pre-collegiate teachers enrolled in Virginia’s Teachers for Tomorrow program, serving as State Advisor for the Future Educators Association, hosting the New Teacher Institute for career switchers, and leading professional development for FCS teachers.  Ms. Fuqua is a former FCS teacher.  She holds a masters degree in School Administration.
