Welcoming Remarks and Keynote

Opening Remarks/Welcome: 8:00am –8:15am

Paul Schuessler, president of The Prince William Area Quality Child Care Partnership, welcomes attendees.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:      8:15am – 8:50am

Our keynote speaker is Sandy Slack.  Ms. Slack received her M.Ed in Early Childhood Special Education from George Washington University.  She has over 35 years of teaching experience in a variety of early childhood programs including Head Start, early intervention programs and Lynchburg City Schools.  She has been a Field Consultant for the High Scope Educational Research Foundation and is currently a private educational consultant for early childhood active learning programs.

Ms. Slack will speak to attendees about how to get connected to a strong network of early childhood educators. She will inspire us to intentionally support young children’s connections: with other people, through their experiences, and across curriculum content. These are the connections that build a stronger network of neural pathways for the children in our care. These are the connections that will ensure our childrens’ future success.
