Louis Foreman – author, entrepreneur, chief executive and innovation expert – is the featured speaker at the inaugural Richard E. Jenkins Innovation Lecture. The event, which is open to the public, is being presented by Springboard, NC State’s innovation resource center.
Foreman will speak on: Innovation: The Importance of Developing an Environment That Embraces Creativity, Nurtures Discovery, Celebrates Success, and Generates Economic Returns.
He is the founder and CEO of Enventys, an integrated product design and engineering firm. A resident of Charlotte, he has created nine successful start-ups and has been directly involved in the creation of more than 20 other firms. Foreman has 10 registered US patents; his company has developed and filed more than 400.
Foreman is the author of The Independent Investor’s Handbook and is a frequent speaker and media personality. Additionally, he is the CEO of Edison Nation and creator of Everyday Edisons, an Emmy-award winning PBS TV show now in its fourth season. An adjunct professor of entrepreneurship and innovation, he received the 2007 Instructor Achievement Award for his teaching at Central Piedmont Community College and in 2009 was named Entrepreneur in Residence at the McColl School of Business at Queens University in Charlotte.
The Jenkins Lecture Series brings national and international thought leaders to the Research Triangle region to enhance understanding of innovation topics and challenges.
