Getting Your Board Up & Running: An Executive How-To for Family Businesses

Bill AlexanderTaught by the High Center's Executive-in-Residence Bill Alexander, this workshop will walk you through how to implement a board of directors or alternately, a board of advisors, including defining the board agenda, clarifying board compensation, recruiting outside board members, and evaluating top management.

He also serves as a director on a number of prominent business boards including Herr Foods, The Hershey Company, The Ratner Companies, Penn National Mutual Insurance Company, and Highmark Blue Shield. He was formerly the managing director of the Snider Entrepreneurial Research Center. He holds an undergraduate degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

A family business expert, entrepreneur, and community leader,  Bill Alexander was a third-generation principal and CEO of a large family business in the construction industry in central Pennsylvania, H.B. Alexander. If you are serious about creating a board, this is the workshop to take.

Executive workshops are a new fee-based offering of the S. Dale High Center that are open to member family business and non-members as well. All members receive a discount per enrollee.
