Tanner Smith Fundraiser

Bring your family to support Tanner’s family at a “tailgate” dinner catered by the Coppermill Restaurant and fabulous benefit fundraiser and pep rally for Tanner Smith, Logan High mascot, Grizzwald, from 2007-2010.

The pep rally will be viewed live by Tanner while he is at Primary Children’s, so bring your family to cheer him on.

Auction and raffle include Utah Jazz items, fitness equipment, bathroom granite countertop, quilt and many other items you won’t want to miss!

Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

Tanner is the son of Kristi and Robert Smith (Coppermill’s “Chef Bob”). At age 16, Tanner was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and received treatments which put the cancer in remission. Tanner was able to return to Logan High where he continued as Grizzwald the mascot for his junior and senior years. Being Grizzwald was the highlight of his high school years. Less than a year after high school graduation, Tanner received the heartbreaking news of a new cancer, AML leukemia, caused by a chemotherapy drug he received for his earlier treatments. Tanner is now 19 and is in the fight of his life—for his life.

Since November, Tanner has endured several rounds of intense chemotherapy and extended stays at Primary Children’s. He will be receiving ongoing chemotherapy treatments at Primary Children’s until his health permits a bone marrow transplant. The bone marrow transplant will eventually require 100+ days of staying in the Salt Lake City area for follow-up care. One of Tanner’s parents has been constantly by his side at the hospital over the past several months so he is never without family support. Now his family needs our support to help with the rapidly growing expenses of his treatment. Please join us on April 25th to “Rally for Tanner.”
