How to Develop an Effective Social Media Policy for Your Company

Social media can do tremendous good for businesses and society, but used inappropriately, or without checks and balances, it has the potential to lead to confusion, rumors or misinformation about employees and the company as situations unfold. The recent “f-bomb” dropped in a Tweet by Chrysler and an inappropriate post on a corporate Twitter account by a Red Cross employee after they got confused between their personal and corporate accounts have caused many to wonder how their company would handle similar slip-ups online.

The need for a more strategic approach for building an effective social media policy for your company and its employees is now more important than ever.

Join Cassandra Engeldinger, Marketing Communications Specialist with Arthrex, Inc., and Marc Meyer, Digital and Social Media Strategist for Ernst and Young, who will provide insight on how to get started creating a social media policy for your company, best practices, and how to create a culture in your company that turns your employees into your best brand advocates.

Networking begins at 11:30am, with lunch and the program to follow promptly at noon.

Cost: $24 for PRSA members, $29 for non-members, $27 for non-profit, and $15 for students.

Please be so kind as to register by Monday, March 21st. No shows will be billed without prior notice, and only cash and checks are accepted at the door.
