The Big 3- Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin

Social Media - The Big Three - Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter

  • What is Social Media?
  • Where did it come from all of a sudden?
  • Should we care about it?
  • Do we need to care about it? Can it help us?
  • What Social Media channels should we use for our businesses?
  • How can we tell what works? How much time will it take?
  • How much will it cost?
  • Should I let my employees use it during work hours?
  • What in the world is Twitter good for?
  • Why would a business be interested in Facebook?
  • What kinds of people should be using LinkedIn?
  • Is Social Media any good for advertising? Public relations? Marketing? Sales? Customer service?
  • How do the Social Media platforms work together?
  • How do they work with websites and blogs?
Facebook - More people are Facebook users than anything else - 632,574,960
Facebook now (March 15, 2011) has over 600 Million members, and an average of 374,000 people join it EVERY DAY. Facebook is way more than embarassing photos  and playing Farmville. Our customers are there. Our competitors are there. How do businesses and professionals use Facebook? How to think about return on your Facebook investment. Examples of great (and some not so great) Facebook Fan Pages.

LinkedIn - This Ain't No Foolin' Around

LinkedIn is the premier professional Social Network. It currently has over 85 million members. LinkedIn is an effective and essential tool for professionals and business people who want to expand their professional networks, showcase their work and accomplishments, communicate and lead. LinkedIn Search allows us to find Answers to questions, People, Companies and more. LinkedIn's Groups allow professionals to associate themselves with people in the same field or geographical area and share information. We'll take a look at Profiles, Contacts, Recommendations, Search, Questions and Answers, and Groups.

Twitter - How Deep is the Ocean?

Twitter is a LOT more than people announcing that they're on their way to lunch. Twitter has been called the nervous system of the internet. ALL news now breaks FIRST on Twitter (Japan). Tweets (Twitter posts) are limited to 140 characters, but the service has infinite flexibility. It is being used for: customer service, market research, sociological research, personal branding, publishing links to other information (blogs, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc), and a lot more. We'll talk about Twitter tools for analysis, research and other purposes.
Learn how to get started. We have reserved 1 1/2 hours of this time to give you an opportunity to ask your specific questions then  follow up on your new skills.
