Speakers
Allie Marie Smith is a professional speaker, award-wining author and the Founder of Wonderfully Made, a Christian ministry dedicated to helping young women know their value and worth. She is the author HEAL: Healthy Eating & Abundant Living, a bible-study resource designed to help young women rise above the strongholds of food and body image issues. Allie is open and honest about her encounter with severe depression - a testimony of God's faithfulness and redemption. She continues to direct Wonderfully Made, which offers college chapters, young womens conferences, resources and a professional speakers and musicians bureau. She lives near Santa Barbara with her husband Paul, a Youth Pastor - together they enjoy surfing, cycling and traveling.

Kayla Mertes lives in Encinitas, Ca where she works for a non-profit literacy foundation and teaches preschool Community Bible Study classes. She has been involved with Wonderfully Made for the past five years since its very beginning at Santa Clara University in Northern California and now serves as a Regional Chapter Director. Kayla’s desire is to see more girls and young women come to know the truth of their value and worth in Christ. She also wants to continue serving God through mission work in Africa and Mexico. Kayla loves traveling, fitness, family and friends, and sunshine! Kayla has some mean 80’s dance moves – her signature move is the Pony and she is also a fearless boogie boarder.

Christie was born in the Bay Area and raised in Santa Barbara and San Francisco, two of her favorite spots in the world. Christie attended Westmont College, where she majored in English, and sang in the college choir. After graduating, she worked at Santa Barbara Magazine for two years, recommitted her life to Jesus, and became a member of Reality Carpinteria--a church on the coast near Santa Barbara. Christie likens her past to a shattered mirror: broken relationships, broken heart, broken image. But God, she says, keeps taking all of that shattered glass and making me a beautiful new creation. He is the One who turns my sadness into dancing." And Christie loves to dance (especially in frozen yogurt shops because they usually have good music and slippery floors). The cry of Christie's heart is to see young women in love with Jesus. Christie serves as a Regional Chapter Director for Wonderfully Made and actively oversees the Westmont College chapter in Santa Barbara.
