South Puget Sound Chapter of SHRM - April 21, 2011 Event

Welcome to April's program offering:

The Future of Employee Benefits - A Shifting Landscape in the Wake of Healthcare Reform

In a national survey by Human Resource ExecutiveŽ, 58% of respondents said that healthcare reform would have an extreme or significant impact on their organization, and 44% said that the majority of their time currently was taken up with benefits issues. Despite the recent political shifts, the anticipated impact of the new laws may reach far deeper than any previous legislative actions. It will cause organizations to reassess all aspects of their total rewards and talent management strategies, which are closely linked with benefits. This session will go beyond reviewing the healthcare reform laws and focus on the areas of strategic and financial impact to employers in the near and long term.

About the Speakers:  Sally Crum Wineman, Esq. is the Western Region Area Counsel for Gallagher Benefit Services. Throughout her 19-year tenure in the employee benefits industry, Sally has specialized in developing effective strategies for organizational compliance with rules and regulations impacting employee benefits. A graduate of the University of Montana and the University of Michigan School of Law, Sally has earned acclaim as a speaker and educator in the local business community, teaching numerous training seminars and workshops every year on various topics in benefits compliance.  Thea Fautenberry is an employee benefits client consultant with Gallagher Benefit Services.  Developed during her 25-year tenure in the employee benefits and HR industry, Thea’s areas of expertise include strategic planning, outsourcing strategies, benefit communications and advising employers how to maximize the benefits they offer.   She graduated from Seattle University’s Executive Leadership Program and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology/public policy from Washington State University.  Thea has earned her Washington State Life and Disability/Health License, is a member of the Employee Benefits Planning Association, and is an active member of SHRM.

We hope you will and your friends will enjoy us for a current, up-to-date briefing on the latest healthcare reform news and events.  Learn about recent appeals and the proposed elimination of the IRS reporting requirement.

Sincerely, Kimberly A. O'Neil, SPHR, SHRP
