We are specifically raising money for Tyke!!!
Tyke is are sweet little fos
ter boy. We (Honey Do Animal Rescue) pulled him from Maple Grove Animal Control. He was found in with 2 other dogs abandoned in a foreclosed home, and was lucky to even be found alive. Only a few minuets after getting him home we noticed he was walking funny. He chalked it up to malnourishment and crossed our figures that he would get stronger and regain his muscle mass and walk normally. Unfortunately, with in a few days his condition was getting worse. He was walking with his paws turned under (kind of like a monkey would walk!) and within hours his poor little legs could not support his body at all. He could not even stand on his own. He took him right to the vet. They did some tests and proscribed him steroids and pain pills to get him through the night. I was a blubbery mess - I was certain he would make it through the night. But, he did! He went to the vet again the next day. After blood work and x-rays the fantastic veterinary staff has concluded he has some type of neurological disorder. In just the 2 short weeks we have had him he has racked up some hefty medical bills. This little guy has all the odds stacked against him - but he has made it this far, and has two girls that are committed to providing him with the best, and most comfortable little life for him- no matter now long that happens to be. We are ever so humbly asking for small donations to help us care for this sweet little boy.
Sponsored by Rovernight Network
Rovernight Network is an online community of dog owners who watch each other's dogs overnight.
It is both an online & offline social networking.
Online Our site has the combined functionality of Facebook, Angie's list and a dating site. Members can search for dog owners by zip, dog breed, age, size & more. They can choose who to communicate with by looking at member profiles; profiles represent photos, information on habits & routines, home & family info and more importantly: ratings & feedback from other members.
Offline Each month we host at least one event for members to meet, interact & play. Since we are already together, we use this gathering as a fundraiser for local rescues & pet charities. Our gatherings are either play dates or yappy hours - we have a lot of fun!
We watch each other's dogs! And it is FREE!!!
The two key member benefits are:
1. Free overnight care (one or several nights) for dog owners
2. Our dogs stay in a dog-friendly home while we travel.
