July 23 | Telling a Story in Pastels: Slide Ranch

Slide Ranch Landscape

Students will meet at Slide Ranch, an environmental education center with an agricultural focus. It is a Marin Organic, working farm, located on the West side of Highway 1 between Muir Beach and Stinson Beach. Class cost includes day use of facilities and the oceanside yurt.  This is an opportunity for some immersion in the challenges and rewards of creating on site, capturing light in the morning.  A great sensory experience...organic vegetables growing, goats, chickens, view of the Pacific Coast, and the rustic buildings at Slide Ranch.

Teacher, Arden Johnson-Petrov, has illustrated numerous children's books and has worked with DooF("food" backwards) a Bay Area organization that promotes quality food choices and culinary education for children.  Arden is affiliated with the New York Society of Illustrators, the New York Authors Guild, and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.  She has degrees from California College of Arts and UC Berkeley.  A supply list will be emailed by the instructor when you register for the class.

Members: $99.     Non Members: $124.(Includes a $25. Membership to Marin Arts)
