Dr. Shiva, an internationally acclaimed physicist, environmentalist, philosopher, and activist received the Right Livelihood Award in 1993, the Order of the Golden Ark, Global 500 Award of the UN, Earth Day International Award, the Lennon Ono Grant for Peace and the Sydney Peace Prize 2010. Time Magazine identified Dr. Shiva as an environmental “hero” in 2003, and Asia Week has called her one of the five most powerful communicators of Asia. She serves on the boards of many organizations, including the World Future Council, the International Forum on Globalization and Slow Food International.

Dr. Shiva has established the International Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Ecology. The institute is dedicated to publicizing independent nonpartisan research that raises awareness about the most critical ecological and social issues of our times. Dr. Shiva accomplishes this objective by working in close partnership with local communities and social movements around the world.

Now in our 40th year, TMC's board recently revised the organization’s mission statement to include the important fight for environmental justice; a global struggle which will help to ensure our very survival.

We look forward to seeing you at the dinner!

In Solidarity, The TMC Board and Dinner Committee
