A social Gathering of Glens and their admirers will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 in a new location this year, Boxborough, MA.  The Glen Gathering is FREE.  Food is pot luck.  There will be fund-raisers for Glen Rescue and the Gathering slush fund, including a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction of Glen memorabilia.

This year we also plan hands-on Grooming demos, Agility, Earthdog & Rally activities you can try out with your Glen, and plenty of conversation about Glen of Imaal Terriers!

God willing, lunch-time speaker this year will be Sean Doyle of Toronto Canada, who grew up with Gypsie - Pride of the Valley - the first Glen of Imaal Terrier Champion in Ireland, during the 1930s.

Here's More Important Information about the Gathering:

WHAT TO BRING:

Please NOTE:  Michelle has an un-fenced, in-ground pool on the premises.  Parents, you are responsible for the safety of your children.

  •  Your Glen(s)!
  •  A crate or X-pen for your Glen (so you can eat and they can chill out)
  •  A chair, and shade if possible
  •  An item for the Pot Luck lunch.  Please indicate the category of food you will be bringing when you register to attend the Gathering.
  • A grill will be available. Water and sodas will be available.
  •  If you are interested in grooming your Glen with the help of some of the knowledgeable people who will be present, bring grooming supplies and table (if possible).
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
  • Remember that Glens (like most terriers) can be dog aggressive. While your Glen may be very friendly, others may not be. Please be courteous and cautious when approaching other dogs, and keep your dog under control.
  • The above applies to any two-legged dependents in attendance too!
  • Flexi-leads are discouraged, as they require close attention on the part of the human. There will be many dogs present, things to see and do, people to meet, and distractions for us all... we feel that dogs under control on standard leashes (or in crates or X-pens) will create a safer environment.
  • Do plan to pick up after your dog! Thank you.
