Join us on Wednesday, August 31st, 2011 1:00 PM (ET) for a special webinar presentation "Leveraging Social Media for Disaster Preparedness."

This presentation will begin by laying out the major areas where social media is being used in emergency preparedness, response, and recovery. The presenter will discuss the ways that social media can be leveraged to enhance situational awareness, strengthen operational aspects of response, support recovery efforts, and build community resilience.

PRESENTERS

Stacy Elmer is the Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response at the US Department of Health and Human Services at HHS. Prior to her current position, Stacy worked for Governor of Kansas as the lead for health issues in the offices of Hispanic and Latino American Affairs and African American Affairs. Since joining ASPR two years ago, Stacy has taken on various special projects for Dr. Lurie including response and recovery issues related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and helping stand up ASPRs recovery office, and, of course, social media.
