The dark side of the Garden comes to life at the Conservatory of Flowers this fall, in Wicked Plants: Botanical Rogues & Assassins. In the dizzying world of plants and poisons, what do you know about the fine art of poisoning? What do you want to know, and do you need to know?
Dr. Kent Olson, Medical Director of the San Francisco division of the California Poison Control System, guides you through the wicked world of toxicology, and answer questions you may have about the plants you grow and love, while introducing you to their nefarious side. After an interactive lecture on the perils of plants and other poisons, enter our garden of wicked plants, and at your own risk, take pleasure in our array of evil refreshments.
Local scientists and bartenders, whose powers combine to form the Cocktail Lab, will pick your poison... and if you're lucky, slip you the antidote. Watch as they stir the wicked out of the plants, and into your beverage.
Reigning Belle of the Edwardian Ball, and darling of the Netherworld, Jill Tracy, then brings your fears to life, entertaining you with suspenseful tales and songs noir, and screens her short film, The Fine Art of Poisoning.
