2012 Florida Campus Ministry Conference 

Jesus was mocked with the title "King of the Jews" at the end of his heroic work on earth.  The Roman soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and chided Jesus with "hail, King of the Jews". As he hung on the cross, his own people, those he had taught and healed among said "He’s the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him."

As disciples of Jesus, we know that God raised Him from the dead.  Indeed, Philippians 2 (NIV) tells us  "God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,  in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,  to the glory of God the Father."  God has made Jesus the King not only of Israel but of all things!
