This 3-hour course teaches you how to anticipate, identify and manage business risks, using real-life scenarios and solutions right out of today’s toughest real estate transactions.

Learning Objectives: At the end of this course, the licensee will be able to describe, and where appropriate, identify:

1. The inherent risks to licensees and their clients in a real estate transaction, how to anticipate them, identify them, avoid them where possible;

2. The risk to licensees for failing to adhere to affirmative duties to buyers and sellers as identified in ORS 696.800-815

3. Some of the risks to consumers in a short sale transaction, and the processes by which a licensee can help mitigate or manage them;

4. Some of the risks to consumers in an REO (bank-owned property) transaction, and the processes by which a license can help mitigate or manage them;

5. The risk to licensees for failing to disclose to the consumer the obligations and protections of new woodstove statutes and rules, domestic well water statutes and rules, and carbon monoxide detection statutes and rules.
