During each presentation of "Pinnacle Peak: Changing Frontier," Les Conklin, who authord "Pinnacle Peak" with the Greater Pinnacle Peak Association, will display historic photographs and describe the roles of Cave Creek and Scottsdale in the history and development of the Pinnacle Peak area and the creation of Pinnacle Peak Park. Following each talk, attendees will have an opportunity to buy a copy of "Pinnacle Peak" and have the author autograph it. Talks will be be given hourly. Guests can also drop in anytime and purchase a signed copy of the book without listening to the presentation. Organized by GPPA with the generous support of el Pedregal.
Author Bio: Les Conklin, an award-winning writer, and publisher of A Peek at the Peak magazine, moved to what became north Scottsdale in 1983. He led the effort to restore the Desert Foothills Scenic Drive, founded Cookout at the Ranch, served on the City of Scottsdale's Preserve Commission and Pride Commission and has served on the board and executive committee several community organizations. Les is the president of the Greater Pinnacle Peak Association, which was founded by residents of the Pinnacle Peak area in 1977.
