“Reflective supervision is an approach that supports various models of relationship-based service delivery. The approach includes regular meetings, a collaborative relational approach, and an emphasis on reflection. Reflective supervision can be used across disciplines, systems of care and service models for children and families.” - Heffron and Murch, 2010
In my eleven years of supervising mental health professionals I have found that Reflective Supervision puts us all in touch with the critical perspective of what we experience with our client population. It helps us all see the counter-transference we may be experiencing with them. Ultimately, reflective supervision seeks to improve the quality of care for clients through reflection, collaboration and understanding. This three hour workshop will try to provide some basic knowledge of how to playfully implement reflective practices into Supervision.
Participants will be able to:
1- Define reflective supervision
2- Identify one playful approach to reflective supervision
3- Practice reflective supervision techniques through role play
