for Join us for an evening of fun and fundraising for Oregon Paleo Lands Institute!
Gather with old friends and new at the 4th Annual Portland Fall Gathering for OPLI. This year we are excited to host a presentation by Dr. Joshua Samuels, Chief Paleontologist for the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. Dr. Samuels will speak about the on-going research in the John Day Basin and the recent finds in the area. You may have read about the discovery of the earliest known record of a modern Beaver in North America, but did you know about the new species of chipmunk, and the park's first bones of the rare large sabertooth Pogonodon?
Despite a colorful history of almost 150 years of research in the region, these fascinating new finds, and others are improving our understanding of how Oregon has changed over the past 50 million years.
We hope you'll join us for an evening of fun and fundraising for OPLI. There is no charge for this event, but we encourage you to bring friends, family, and your checkbook.
