* Those who pay the sponsor fee help support those who cannot afford to pay the full workshop fee.

** Returning students who have previously attended a level I workshop are eligible to attend at a reduced rate.

The course fees listed above are for those who are not staying at the monastery. If you would like to stay on site Friday and Saturday evenings, the following fees will be added:

  • Single room: Add $110*
  • Double room: Add $72/per person*

A Weekend Workshop with Tergar Instructor Cortland Dahl

In this weekend meditation workshop we will learn how cultivating awareness can help create a peacefulmind and joyful heart. The practice of meditation enables us to transform all experiences, even difficult emotions and painful thoughts, into sources of joy. Over the course of this weekend, we will explore the landscape of our experience with mindful awareness, learning how to use the body, sensory experiences, thoughts, emotions, and even awareness itself as supports for meditation.
 
The schedule for this weekend workshop includes presentations on the key points of meditation practice by Tergar instructor Cortland Dahl, DVD teachings by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, as well as guided meditations and discussion. This weekend is suitable for people of all faiths, as well as both beginning and experienced meditators.

About Mingyur Rinpoche

About Cortland Dahl

Cortland began meditating in the early 1990's and has taught courses on meditation and Buddhist philosophy around the world. In 2000, he received a master's degree in Buddhist Studies from Naropa University and then lived for eight years in Nepal and India, where he spent time meditating in retreat, teaching at Kathmandu University's Center for Buddhist Studies, and translating ancient Tibetan texts. As an author and translator, he has published six books on Buddhist philosophy and the practice of meditation.
