Budget Works 2012 is presented by the Colorado Fiscal Policy Institute, a project of the Colorado Center on Law and Policy.
Registration for Budget Works 2012 has closed. You can still participate, though, by joining us for a live chat, all day on Friday, Jan. 13. Find the chat at our blog, Policy Matters.
Our annual Budget Works training is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 13, which seems oddly appropriate given the dangers Colorado's working families are facing. We hope you'll join us for Budget Works, and get a sneak-peak at the beautiful new History Colorado Center at 1200 Broadway in Denver.
This year, our focus is on federal funding and how it affects the state budget and Colorado residents. Our keynote speaker is Jared Bernstein, senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Most recently the chief economist and economic adviser to Vice President Joe Biden, Bernstein was also the executive director of the White House Task Force on the Middle Class and a member of President Obama's economic team.
Other featured experts include, Natalie Mullis, chief economist, Colorado Legislative Council Staff, and Colorado Fiscal Policy Institute staff.
Plan on an engaging full day event. Registration will begin at 7:30 am, followed by a general session that will run from 8:30- 12:00. We'll break for lunch and close out the day with afternoon breakout sessions that will provide concrete practical strategies to activate Colorado advocates.
The cost to attend is $40. Scholarships are available. If you'd like to request a scholarship, contact Colorado Fiscal Policy Institute Communications Director Perry Swanson at pswanson@cclponline.org.
