The Fifth Conference on Effective Representation of Refugees and Asylees
This two-day training conference is designed for legal workers and attorneys who work with refugees, asylees and their families on immigration law matters. The conference agenda includes presentations and discussions on current issues affecting refugees and asylees, including adjustment of status, obtaining derivative status for family members and other family reunification issues, security-related and criminal inadmissibility grounds, waivers of inadmissibility, and other related issues. In addition to presentations by immigration law practitioners, participants will hear from immigration officers working at USCIS headquarters, the Nebraska Service Center and other government speakers. Interested participants will also have the opportunity to tour the Nebraska Service Center and meet with staff on the morning of March 8th (there is an additional $20 fee if you want to take the bus to the NSC).
