About Jennifer Barley
Jennifer Barley, PCC, CPC, is a Certified Professional Life Coach, Public Speaker, Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) Instructor, Author and former award winning Weight Loss Leader.
Jennifer is known amongst her friends and colleagues as a free-spirited, fun, and gregarious personality always ready with an easy laugh and an encouraging word. But it is her compassion and sincere desire to help others that drives her as a life coach to reach out to clients looking to make a positive impact on their life.
Jennifer has struggled with her weight since the age of 14, at times being more than 40 pounds over her ideal weight. She has tried every diet and every exercise routine that have come along since that time, but it wasn’t until she realized that weight loss is as much mental as physical that she was able to permanently release her weight. Jennifer believes that each person has the ability to overcome their weight issues, but they must first come to grips with their relationship with food and fitness.
Jennifer’s desire to help others with weight challenges led her to become a Weight Watchers® leader where she motivated, educated, and inspired over 500 members per week from 2005 until 2009. And she got results. In 2006 Jennifer was recognized for assisting the greatest number of members to achieve their goal weight. In 2007 and 2008 she was recognized as a Weight Watcher “Diamond Leader” for being among the top 20% in results nationwide, and was also named Weight Watcher “Leader of the Year” in 2006, 2007, and 2008.
Looking to reach a broader audience with similar issues, Jennifer became a certified life coach. She graduated from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), an ICF-accredited Life Coaching Program, with over 340 hours of course-related work and hands-on training. Upon graduation, Jennifer became a lead instructor for iPEC’s program, training hundreds of coaches per year on coaching core competencies, skills, foundation principles, and tools. She is also a one-on-one mentor coach helping new coaches hone and refine their coaching techniques.
Jennifer’s mission is to work with clients that have a history with weight issues, who do not believe in a “magic pill” solution but instead have the determination and commitment to work for change. Her idea clients have the desire to truly understand how their thoughts affect their feelings, which affect their actions. Jennifer’s personal experience along with her professional training not only gives her a unique insight into the topic, but the tools to deliver successful results.
Jennifer works with clients one on one, in workshop environments, and through online teleclasses. As the KickStart Coach™, Jennifer is committed to providing the support, encouragement, accountability, and motivation that her clients need to get inspired and get in the game.
