Keynote Speaker: Ann Marie Donohue, Ph.D. — Founder and faculty advisor of the Student Veterans Organization at Montgomery County Community College and contributing member to the 2007 Brain Injury Consensus Conference convened to provide recommendations for treatment and care for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans with traumatic brain injury, Ann Marie has become a champion for veterans returning home  from war zones and helping them reacclimate to their communities. Her presentations include “From War Zone to College Campus: An Invisible and Emerging Population,” and “Veterans and Homecoming: Issues in Transition and Community Response.”Ann Marie’s discussion will focus on welcoming veterans into or back into your faith community when they return from duty. 

Guest speakers: Tracy W. Burke, Captain (USMC-former), and his wife  Dawn M. Burke—Discussion will focus on navigating the transition from military to civilian life from the perspective of the veteran and the spouse, how to avoid awkward communication, and how to support military families, especially during deployment.

Panel discussion: Dr. Donohue and Capt. and Mrs. Burke will team up with veteran Ken Ziegler for a panel discussion to answer any questions you may have.

Attendees eligible for CECs must attend the entire program without exception; those unable to attend the entire program are not eligible for part of the CECs awarded.
