Spirituality and the Environment:
A Native American Perspective

Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries, Clarkson University, presents a discussion with respected spiritual leader James W. Ransom, former Tribal Chief for for the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe, to examine the American Indian's role in our environmental future on Thursday, July 19 at 7pm at the Center for Environmental Innovation and Education at Denning's Point in Beacon, NY.

Moderated by Hudson River environmentalist John Cronin, this spiritual exploration is a continuation of the popular series begun in 2011, designed to transcend differences in belief systems, finding common points of intersection and hope.

Mr. Ransom has spent the past thirty years learning about Mohawk culture and using the principles underlying Traditional Teachings to guide him in his work today.  Mr. Ransom currently holds the position of Director of the Integrated Resource Management Department with the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne.
