2011 Tough WEATHER CATASTROPHIC Year for Industry

Steve began his career as a Field Claims Adjuster. In just over five years, he became an Assistant Vice President of Environmental Claims for Zurich Insurance Group. Over the next 23 years, Steve held many senior management roles at other property and casualty insurance carriers such as AIG, Travelers and CNA.

Steve was most recently the Executive Vice President and Chief Claims Officer at Balboa Insurance in Irvine, California, where he was responsible for overall claims execution and strategy supporting the company’s $3+ billion book of business. In August 2009 Steve joined State Auto Insurance Companies in Columbus, Ohio as Vice President and Chief Claims Officer.

He specializes in turning around and achieving top performance in Claims operations, leading acquisition integration strategies, and rebuilding claims organizations.

Steve sits on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Insurance Guarantee Association; serves as Secretary and Board member of the Ohio Insurance Institute, and has most recently been elected to serve as Board member and Director of Central Ohio American Charities beginning January 1, 2012.

Steve, his wife Barbara and son Tom now reside in Gahanna, OH.
