If you have a desire to learn more about the art of Beekeeping, this school is for YOU!  From the opening remarks that start at the beginning ("This is a bee!") until the demonstration on how to extract honey, you will experience what it takes to build, install and care for your own bee hives.

Our Beginning Beekeeper sessions include demonstrations on building your equipment, lighting a smoker, selecting the type of hive that is right for you, and installing your bees.  You will learn what wild flowers the bees use for pollen and nectar, what purpose each type of bee in a hive serves, and how to capture a swarm.

We will walk you through a bee supply catalog and share with you what we recommend for a beginner.  You will even have the opportunity to "suit up" and watch as we open a live hive of bees right in front of you.  Please see the schedule below.

If you are beyond the beginner stage, our Intermediate Sessions will cover bee diseases and pests, removing bees from structures, using Top Bar Hives and raising your own queens.

There will even be an explanation of how to use Bee Venom Therapy to help control Multiple Sclerosis and other ailments naturally.  *****Please note--Due to scheduled surgery, our presenter on Bee Venom Therapy has had to cancel.  We will try to find a replacement.  Our apologies to you and our prayers go with our presenter and his physicans.*******Other sessions include Chemical Free Beekeeping and Where Do I Find Beekeeping Information on the Internet.

We consider ourselves a "family-friendly" school.  Children are welcome and may attend a Little Bee School for ages 3 through 10.  They will be involved in bee-related learning activities and will be under adult supervision.

A Vendors Area will be open with items for purchase.  The Central Texas Beekeepers will have a limited number of assembled, painted, ready-to-go hives available for purchase.

The cost of the school is $35 for the first adult in a household and $25 for any other adult over 18.  Children (3 to 18) are $15 each.  This includes a Texas Bar-B-Que meal including Blue Bell Ice Cream (after all, we ARE in Brenham!) and a school "book" that will contain information from each class for you to review when you get home.  Registration on-site the day of the school is an additional $10 per person.

You my pay with a credit card through PayPal.  You do NOT need to have a PayPal account to use this service.  It is a secure payment method that is widely accepted.

If you have questions, please contact us at (979) 277-0411 or by email at centraltexasbeekeepers@gmail.com.  You may visit our website at www.centraltexasbeekeers.org.
