53rd NSSA Awards Weekend 

Here is the schedule for the 53rd Annual NSSA Awards Weekend, June 9-11, 2012:

SATURDAY, JUNE 9^th

Pickups at CLT Airport – As scheduled

• Noon-9pm – Registration, Holiday Inn Salisbury
• 3:30-6:30pm – Welcome Reception, Holiday Inn, Salisbury, NC
• 6:30-9pm – Welcome Dinner, followed by Issues Forum (theme, participants TBD), Holiday Inn Ballroom

SUNDAY, JUNE 10^th

Pickups at CLT Airport – As scheduled

• 9:30-11am – NSSA National Board Meeting, Salisbury Room, Holiday Inn
• 11am-1pm – Brunch with seminars, sponsored by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Holiday Inn Ballroom
• 2:00-3:30pm – Book signing, Literary Bookpost, Downtown Salisbury (Bus/van leaves hotel at 1:30pm, returns at 3:30pm)
• 5:45-10pm – Open Bar Reception, followed by Dinner/Dance, Salisbury Station Depot, Downtown Salisbury (Buses leave hotel at 5:20/5:30pm, return at 9, 9:30 & 10pm)

MONDAY, JUNE 11^th

Pickups at CLT Airport – As scheduled

• 7-9:30am – Breakfast, Holiday Inn Ballroom
• 8:15am – Golfers leave for Golf Tournament (Registration 8:45, shotgun start 9:30am-2:30pm), course TBD (Lunch on course, bus returns at 3pm)
• 9:30am – Tennis players leave for Tennis Tournament (10am-12noon), Catawba College (Lunch at courts, van returns at 12:30pm)
• 9:30am–4:30pm – NSSA//STAA One-Day Ticket To Sportscasting Success seminar, Holiday Inn Ballroom (Participants responsible for own lunch)
• 11:00am – Tour/Luncheon group leave hotel for Tour of Historic Salisbury and Lunch at TBD
• 12:30-1:30pm – Luncheon for tour participants, TBD, Downtown Salisbury (shopping 1:30-2:45pm; group returns via bus at 3pm)
• 5-6:30pm – Open Bar Reception/Silent Auction, Catawba College (Buses leave hotel at 4:45pm)
• 6:30-10pm - 52^nd Annual NSSA Awards Banquet and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Catawba College (Buses return at end of program)
• 10:30pm - ??   After party at Holiday Inn

TUESDAY, JUNE 12^th

6:-9:30am – Breakfast, Holiday Inn Ballroom

The  National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association is pleased to welcome to Salisbury our newest Hall of Famers, Bob Costas and John Feinstein; National Sportscaster of the Year Dan Shulman of ESPN; National Sportswriter of the Year Joe Posnanski; and 103 state sportscasters and sportswriters of the year.

There will be plenty of fun during the three-day weekend, starting with the welcome reception on Saturday, June 9th.  For the first time, NSSA members will hold a book signing at Literary Bookpost in downtown Salisbury.  And all NSSA Hall of famers have been invited back to share the Golden Anniversary of the NSSA Hall of Fame.  The weekend culminates in the 53rd Annual NSSA Awards Banquet on Monday night, June 11th.  Always one of the highlights on the sports calendar, space is limited, so reserve yours now by clicking on the button below.
