Living Life In 'The Zone'

The Carolinian Life Zone, That Is!

Did you know?  The Carolinian Life Zone comprises a mere 1% of the country’s entire land mass, yet is home to a greater variety of flora and fauna than anywhere else in Canada!  This zone has been dubbed the Canadian ‘Banana Belt’.  Discover how it acquired this curious nickname and much more about the Zone.  Even better, obtain tips on how to create your own little Carolinian oasis while helping conserve and enhance this vital aspect of our natural heritage.

Join us for a talking tour through the “Zone”.  Learn how Carolinian Canada Coalition (CCC) is enhancing biodiversity in Southern Ontario.  Discover how you can personally help rare species right in your own backyard.  First, CCC presenter Bronwen Buck will escort you on this verbal and visual tour of the Carolinian Life Zone in the comfort of the Woodstock Little Theatre!

Then, Wildlife Gardening’s Liam Kijewski and Crystal Bradford will describe how to ‘double the green in your thumbs’ by selecting attractive native plants that will both enrich your garden and benefit wildlife.

Grab your friends and neighbours and join us for this free event! And why not help support the community by donating non-perishable food item(s) at the door!?
