She first attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA and later transferred to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. From there she obtained both her Associates (2008) and Bachelor’s (2010) degrees in Interpretation: ASL/English. Since that time she maintained a close relationship with the Deaf community. She has also been involved with the Deaf-Blind community since 2007. She has served on the board of the Arkansas Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (ARID) for 3 ½ years until she relocated to Shreveport, Louisiana. She currently works as a full-time staff interpreter at the Betty and Leonard Phillips Deaf Action Center in Shreveport.
