Join the McKenzie River Trust, Native Plant Society of Oregon and Lane County Parks as you explore riparian forest and upland Douglas-fir and oak forests on a tour of the Berggren Watershed Conservation Area and neighboring Vickery Park. We begin at the 92-acre Berggren property, touring the farm fields and floodplain forest with an eye to habitat restoration and the diverse partnerships working to steward this special landscape. Pause for a BYO bag lunch by the McKenzie River, then continue on to the undeveloped and relatively pristine Vickery County Park next door. This riverside park of 80 acres covers a steep, rocky hillside. Diverse habitats include oak savanna and dense forest.
Thanks for your interest in the native plant tour on the lower McKenzie. This tour is now full! We've had so much interest that we will do our best to host another native plant tour this year. Please send us an email to let us know you are interested in hearing about future native plant opportunities.
