CASA for Kids of East Texas

Come casual and get ready for a great time as we celebrate all the children who have new beginnings in part because of their CASA volunteers.
We will have a fantastic silent auction filled with treasures you won’t want to miss. Again this year, we’re having our fabulous Chocolate and Diamonds raffle where you can win a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings.
And, for the first annual Judge Ruth Blake Extraordinary Volunteer Award will be presented.

You’ll enjoy a bountiful selection of delicious food prepared by some of Tyler’s finest restaurants.

CASA IS A GOOD INVESTMENT
Especially in Difficult Economic Times

• CASA is a high-impact organization that leverages funding through volunteers. One CASA staff member can support up to 30 volunteers who can advocate for the best interests of up to 60 or more children.
   
• Children with CASA volunteers are less likely to remain in long-term foster care. In 2009, 14,000 children left Texas foster care. 17% had spent more than 3 years in the system, compared with only 10% of those with CASA advocates.
   
• CASA volunteers help secure services that heal traumatized children and help them find safe, permanent homes so they can grow into healthy adults.
   
• CASA volunteers are appointed by the court as guardians ad litem. Without CASAs, judges must appoint and pay attorneys or others to fill this roll.
