Class level: no prior experience required
Tunisian crochet is on the rise again. This time novel techniques such as lace patterns and working in the round are allowing for a greater variation in designs. The test piece for this class is a two colored wrist warmer, worked in the round, using a Tunisian crochet hook with a long flexible cord OR a cowl worked in the round with an oversized Tunisian crochet hook with a flexible cord. Participants will get an insight into the possibilities of using Tunisian crochet as design elements in knitting projects. Techniques covered: casting on, estimating size, Tunisian simple stitch, Tunisian purl stitch, seed stitch pattern, working in the round with one or two colors, binding
off.
Supplies list:
Tunisian crochet hook size J or K with a flexible cord (min. 20-24”), 40
yards of fingering or sport weight yarn AND 40 yards of worsted weight yarn in two different colors, darning needle, scissors.
