What is Penny Lane?

Penny Lane is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1969 to serve abused teenage girls. Since that time, our programs and services have expanded to serve thousands of youth and families including the GLBTQ community. We were one of the first social services agencies in Los Angeles County to receive the Human Rights Campaign "All Children, All Families" seal which demonstrates our role as a pioneer in providing GLBTQ social services. We are always trying to expand our work with this population within our agency and we are excited to share what we have learned with others.

What is EDGY?

EDGY is a one day conference dedicated to evolving practices for professionals who work with GLBTQ (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning) youth and families. The conference will bring together a variety of speakers who are excited to share their expertise and experience. The Conference provides an opportunity for government agencies, social service providers, mental health professionals, community and family members to learn how to create a child-centric wheel of support through initiatives, education, and enlightenment.

Why should I attend this year’s EDGY Conference?

  • Expand your knowledge of evolving practices for professionals who work with GLBTQ youth and families
  • Learn from experienced professionals how to meet clients’ needs through a nurturing and affirmative approach

  • Gain the necessary tools to create a safe space and foster awareness within your organization or company
  • Network with other agencies
  • Earn 6 CEUs (Continuing Education Credit for BBS and Group Home Administrators)
  • Help support Penny Lane Centers
