April is Child Abuse Prevention Month 

Burry Bookstore and the Pee Dee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence are co-sponsoring a Fund Raiser and Author Event to raise awareness about child abuse 

Author Karen Spears Zacharias has written the true crime story of Karly Sheehan of Corvallis, Oregon.

This is not a simple love story. It is the troubling tale of a father’s love for the daughter he was unable to protect.

On Monday, April 30th at 7:00 pm Karen Spears Zacharias will be visiting the Durant Children's Center to speak and raise awareness about child abuse.   Karen, Burry Bookstore, and the Pee Dee Coalition are  hoping to raise funds to assist the Coalition as they reach out to victims of abuse in the Pee Dee area. 

Registration is $40.00 and includes a copy of Karen's book  A Silence of Mockingbirds.  The price of the book, including sales tax, is $27.00.  The remaining $13.00 ticket price will be donated to the Pee Dee Coalition.
