Turning tax credits into funds to use for filming requires creativity; but many banks don't understand the process, or won't advance funds.  Our speakers are experts at finding, funding, and filming with soft money.

  • Heidi Jo Markel, Producer - Heidi Jo is a prolific indie producer with over 20 films including "Lovelace" and "Olympus Has Fallen" - currently in production in Louisiana.  
  • Adrian Ward, Sr. VP, Entertainment Division, First California Bank - Adrian is one of the top indie film lenders, now Sr. VP for the Entertainment Banking Division at FCB.  
  • Warren T. Goz, DBW LLC - Based in New York, his company can lend against tax credits or rebates. Warren has extensive Sec. 181 background, and co-founded Grand Army Entertainment.  
  • Alan Bailey, Tax Credits, LLC - Tax Credits, LLC is a U.S. tax credit placement specialist.  Bruce works with many states to improve their incentives programs.
  • Robbert Aarts, CEO Fintage House - Fintage House is the major rights and clearing company for independent films.

Some top states present their film credit programs.  Meet the new commissioner from Colorado, along with California, Connecticut and Ohio commissioners.  Hear the latest insight in US incentives. 

  • Amy Lemisch, Executive Director, California Film Commission - California offers tax credits of 20-25% for qualified expenditures (via lottery), and recently renewed their $100M annual fund.
  • George Norfleet, Director, Connecticut Film Office - Connecticut offers 10-30% tax credits for qualified expenditures in the state. Has excellent crew and stays busy.
  • Ivan Schwarz, Executive Director, Greater Cleveland Film Commission - Ohio is becoming a key production center, with a 25%/35% refundable tax credit and new monies available.
  • Donald Zuckerman, Director, Colorado Film Office - Rocky Mountain high, real snow, and a new 20% cashrebate program and loan guarantee program. Donald is an indie producer too.
  • Randall Emmett, Emmett-Furla Films - Randall is a major producer of over 70 films including "Broken City" and "The Expendables".
