 Islam and Peace

In recent years, the world has witnessed some tragic terrorist attacks around the globe, including the U.S., justified through the misinterpretation of Islamic teachings. Such events have widened the gap between Islam and the West causing confusion about key concepts of jihad and the Islamic legal stance on suicide bombings and terrorism. On March 2nd 2010, Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri issued a comprehensive 600-page 'Fatwa' (religious ruling) explaining the Islamic stance on terrorism and suicide bombings which is regarded as one of the most comprehensive condemnations of terrorism to date by any leading Islamic authority. Dr Qadri’s talk will clarify the key concepts of peace and jihad in Islam.
